My heart bursts because so many clients have become lifelong friends, and that is where the magic happens.
Location: Seaside, Oregon
Ceremony Venue: Oceanfront, on the Beach
Vibe: Playful, Family-Centered, Meaningful
For Mitch and Megan, the Oregon coast is more than just a getaway; it’s their happy place. Whenever they have a free weekend, they head straight to their favorite beaches, finding peace in the relaxed atmosphere and the German-inspired coastal areas with good beer and fewer crowds. They live just north of the coast, in the Seattle area, so it’s a quick drive and a perfect place to spend weekends away, and a VERY pet friendly area that they get to spend with Pickle. Their deep love for the coast made choosing a wedding venue easy—it had to be the oceanfront!
As if the day wasn’t special enough, their adorable wiener dog, Pickle, stole the show. Pickle, a big part of their lives, was by their side the entire day, making sure all eyes were on him as he celebrated with his humans at their favorite place.
Mitch and Megan’s wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. With 70-degree weather, a gentle breeze, and a slight haze floating over the water, it was a glorious Oregon coast day. The ceremony was intimate and family-centered, making it not only a celebration of their love but also a reflection of the people who mean the most to them.
Before the ceremony, we spent part of the afternoon exploring the charming downtown Seaside area. This fun part of town is known for its carousel, ice cream shops, and unique seaside vibe, giving us plenty of playful and candid photo opportunities.
Mitch and Megan knew they wanted to share their love for the Oregon coast with their closest friends and family. Getting married on the beach allowed them to do just that—immersing their guests in the laid-back, serene environment that brings them so much joy.
The color palette they chose reflected the natural beauty of the coastline. Soft whites, creams, and light blues blended effortlessly into the surroundings, giving their wedding a dreamy seaside aesthetic. Casual attire helped keep the relaxed vibe intact, aligning with their vision for a day that felt natural and personal.
As their wedding photographer, one of the key things I helped them plan was the timing of their ceremony and portraits. When you’re getting married on the beach, understanding how the sun moves and how the light shifts is crucial for capturing those dreamy golden hour photos. Since Seaside’s beach faces west, the sun sets right over the ocean, creating a magical moment that we couldn’t miss. However, once the sun sets, the light disappears quickly.
I worked with Mitch and Megan to adjust the timeline to make sure we had time for golden hour shots before the light faded. Trusting your photographer’s expertise when planning a beach wedding can make all the difference in creating stunning, unforgettable images!
