Personal branding communicates to your audience that you are trustworthy, credible and professional, and isn’t just for large corporations and companies. Social media has forever changed the way that we interact with our customers and connect our with potential target market. Branding is what gets clients to pay attention to you!
DIY’ing a personal brand can save you money, but the trust is, hiring someone to handle it all can help you make more in the long run, and spend more time doing what you do best – your business! I highly recommend looking into a company who shares some of your values and produces work like you view your brand to become. Hiring a photographer is just one of the pieces of it, and it’s something I’m so passionate about! Hiring a photographer that can help you achieve your professional photos can also assist you with gathering your day to day content that you want to share!
When I’m working with a client who has hired me for branding photography, there are a few things that we cover to make sure that their session turns out even better than they expected :
- Brand colors and style – Being a light, bright photographer means that I don’t photograph clients who reflect moody colors or a dark style to their brand. My clients often times have a more feminine style and value the true to life color pallet, with pops of color here and there. I’m also a natural light photographer, so that means that, even when we use an indoor space or studio, there is plenty of light shining in the windows to make the photos natural. We will work together to create a color pallet for clothing and bring accessories that compliment your brand.
- Overall personality – My clients also have a personality that they want to shine through their images. It is important to personal branding to not try to communicate a personality that is not your own when it comes to your brand. Clients want to know what to expect, and will likely be disappointed if they do not receive the person they thought that they paid for. This is why when guiding your session, we walk through a variety of professional still poses, as well as some prompted content to get plenty of variety to your gallery that highlights your unique brand personality.
- Tell your brand story – Make sure to consult with your branding specialist and bring ideas for content that aren’t just the normal “looking at the camera” photos. This baker in my local area wanted a small shoot with her and a natural downtown location, with some of her baking her treats. We met at the downtown area, and then went to an airbnb that had her branding colors in the kitchen and I let her work through certain steps of her baking process to get all kinds of ideas for content!
