Senior Portraits aren’t for Instagram, They are Forever | Seyi | Lewiston High School Senior Portrait Photographer

News Flash (and probably an unpopular opinion) =

Your senior pictures are not for your instagram feed.

Oops, I said it.

Of course they should be shared, and something that you want to be proud of. But they are also something that lasts forever. Everyone remembers their senior pictures, and ends up pulling one or two out 20,30,40 years later when asked about them. It’s so important that you have an incredible experience, but also that you get images that are all about you and will last forever.

Its important to bring your hobbies and interests into the session, so you can look back and remember the things that were special to you during that exciting time. As well as include any animals you may want, and make sure that the locations fit your style!

Although being trend is “in” and everyone wants their instagram feed to be creative and cool. Its important to remember that these are for YOU, not for likes from your peers. Those won’t matter over the years.

Seyi is a perfect example of this : she picked out outfits that were perfectly HER. Seyi – short for her full name Oluwaseyi – gained her American citizenship after her family found home in Lewiston Idaho, all the way from Nigeria in 2019! She wanted to give voice to her home and culture by wearing a traditional Nigerian gown and finding a location with tall grasses, like those of the African Sahara. These images turned out amazing, and SO HER!
